When adding cvlnDMHook in notes.ini it causes serious performance problems on the server.

This is server environment with problems:
    Lenovo Converged HX7510, Xeon E5-2697, 2 socket x 18 cores x 5 hosts, 512GB memory
    VMware ESX 5.5.0 Build 4345813
    Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise - Service Pack 1
    CPU: 6 vsocket x 4 core = 24 cores
    Memory: 64GB

Lotus Domino 9.0.1FP9HF139, dual node cluster. One node is affected
    The cvlnDMHook.log has many errors:
EMHandlerProc() - Flags: [0x00000000] indicate a non-supported open note operation for recall.
EMHandlerProc() - Flags: [0x03000803] indicate a non-supported open note operation for recall.

Could you confirm the Commvault version and service pack level you are on?  There are some issues identified specifically with server 2008/2008r2 with version 11 service pack 11 that are resolved by upgrading to service pack 12.

Just to clarify, the Domino servers are also on service pack 12, not just the Commserve, correct?

Were Domino services restarted after the cvlndmhook entry was added to the notes.ini extmgr ?

If you disable that entry in the notes.ini, the performance issues go away?  Do Notes Recall operations work correctly?

You noted the Domino version and fix pack, but not the Commvault version currently loaded on the Domino servers.

You stated that only one node is affected here.  Do both nodes have the Commvault software installed?  Is there any difference between the nodes if that is the case that should be noted?

    Hi Marise -

It looks like you already have a case opened which has been escalated for review with our development team.  Best to continue to work through support on this, and we will see what next steps are through that thread.
