Where can you adjust how often it looks/scans for new files?

What replication are you using, CDR, DDR, SDR, or WBA?
Each behave a little different, so let us know.
CDR will continously replicate the data once its in a replicating state. The behavior you observed was because the changes are captured in the replication logs and then transferred to the destination. Once the log reaches the destination it will get replayed. The delay you saw was more then likely because the amount of "temp" data you copied was not of a full log (less than ~5 megs), which waits for more data. If you copy something like 50 megs (about 10 logs worth), you should see it on the destination quicker, since the log size is reached instead of a timeout.
