As part of a formal Disaster Recovery program, it is necessary to validate backups on a periodic basis.  In our case, we will need to validate tape media created via Auxilliary Copy operations.  Does anyone have a "process template" they would be willing to share that includes this type of function, including how/when the media are selected?

You can run data verification jobs on individual job IDs or have it run automatically on all aux copy operations within a storage policy (configured on the copy level)  The link below goes into the specifics of this operation.

Please let us know if this is sufficient for your DR program.

Thanks for the reference Vincenzo!  I started reading about the features and looking into how we might implement them.  This is certainly a possible starting point, though it looks as if we might have to modify the way we write things to tape media if we were to use the validation procedure that is dependent on the initial auxiliary copy being verified as it is written.  It's definitely a method we need to discuss.

    Thanks again,
