It sounds like perhaps the install didn't complete 100% succesfully.  Have the backups ever worked/run from this server?  There should not be any problem running 9.0 on this version of Linux.  As a matter of fact, I just finished testing an install of version 9 on RH 5.8 the other day and it ran w/no problems at all.

One thing you can try is to set up your environment accordingly, and try running the cvd process manually to see if it starts...

From a root logon on the RH server do the following:

    1. cd /opt/simpana
    2. . ./Base/cvprofile
    3. . ./galaxy_vm
    4. cvd

Run the commands from step 1 through 4 above remember to use a space between the dot command "." and the dot-slash "./" in the beginning of the file/directory.

What do you get when you try to run the "cvd" command?

Also I have seen this if SELinux is enabled but the security module is not set up (see Online documentation on Linux system requirements page). If you try to start the cvd process per Ernie's suggestion and get an error about loading libSnooper library, then that too confirms SELinux is the culprit.

    Hi Friends,

I ran the cvd command but the service didn't come up, exist any way to permit to come up the service any config in the Linux SO?

    [root@preproportal Base]# ./cvd
./cvd: error while loading shared libraries: ./libSnooper.so: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied

    Thanks!!

Bingo...  I see the problem... It is as MHZ stated, you have SELinux enabled on this server.   SELinux is preventing cvd from starting as it is not letting the libSnooper.so load into the kernel.

You must turn off SELinux, or add an exception to SELinux configuration to allow CV software to run appropriately.   Check the install documtnation on how to configure SELinux to work with CommVault.
