Outlook Add-In Won't Load

    Hi All,

    hopefully you can help here.  We are having issues with the Outlook-Addin (Email Archiver) whereby the installation proceeds fine, there are no errors in the installation log.  The application is listed as an installed program - Windows XP SP3.  However the add-in does not load in outlook.  Nor can we manually add it.

    Has anyone come across the problem?  If so any help would be appreciated.

    Two things come to mind here.

    1. Make sure the add-in version you intalled is the same bit as outlook.  ex: OS 64 outlook 32 make sure the 32 bit add-in is used.

    2.  See the KB below and make sure the permissions are set on the registry key that is required.

    Hi Patrick,

    many thanks for that.  I had taken both of the above into account already.  I had narrowed it down to either a windows profile issue or an outlook profile issue by this morning. 

    It turned out to be a windows xp profile issue in the end.  We were just unlucky to have several users complain about the issue at once.  Each one of them had enormous windows profiles.  This has also been remedied using GPO to redirect desktops and to prevent saving to them

    one thing I should of stated previously and it sounds like it may have been the problem.

    When you open outlook you can go to the disabled items and make sure the addin is not listed as disabled.  We have seen this issue as well.

    Outlook 2003 you can find this in help, about, disabled items.
