    Should pruning of expired stubs work also when using EBS.

    I've got few stubs in sharepoint whose objects have expired in storage policies. However these stubs are not being removed from sharepoint at new archival jobs.

    When I try to access this expired item, I see error:

    1340 45c  05/28 11:34:13 #### getMAByAFile: ArMgrClientAPI.getAfileInfo failed with error code [268435459]
    1340 45c  05/28 11:34:14 #### FetchIndexInfo::initByAfileId(): Failed to get the mediaagent name using getMAByAFile(2,540)
    1340 45c  05/28 11:34:14 #### IsFileErasedBasedOnOriginalPath(598): -Error-: FetchIndexInfo::Init(), failed. Can not check erase status of file;'\MB\http:sharepoint\http:sharepointsitesarchive\http:sharepointsitesarchive\Shared Documents\Expired.doc';(2, 540)
    1340 45c  05/28 11:34:14 #### FetchIndexInfo::end(): ERROR - sendObject() failed for FetchIndexInfoEndReq
    1340 45c  05/28 11:34:15 #### DMRRequest::Submit(931): -Error-: Failed to fetch restore MA with archiveFileID [540], commcellID [2] and client name [sharepoint] with error [2]

    SPDocArchiver.log shows that it detected expired documents:

    4256 738 05/28 10:40:56 1295 SP2K3DMBackupObject::PurgeAfileIDs() - Pruning Stubs
    4256 738 05/28 10:40:56 1295 COMMCELLMAPPER: getCommCellId returned 0, defaulting to 2
    4256 738 05/28 10:40:57 1295 Error() - SP2K3DocServer COM return error:AFile [12078:20:540] no longer exists

    4256 738 05/28 10:41:40 1295 Pruning time = [0]

    CommCell is v10SP2+ and Sharepoint agent is v9SP9a.

    Unfortunately no the stubs will not be pruned when the data is aged from the media side.

    Any way to get rid of stubs pointing to non-existing data then? Except manually trying to open every item in Sharepoint site, then when it dont open, look from log files?

    Books online though still state: and Recovery

    In the archiving phase, SharePoint Archiver will archive the files meeting the pre-set archiving criteria and, if applicable, put them into a list for the stubbing phase and prune expired stubs.

    Any update on this, we are considering using the sharepoint archiver and am a bit worried about this.  I have over a TB of data in sharepoint with a 7 year retention policy.    It would be a nightmare to have thousands of orphaned files out there.
