I want to clarify if "erase and reuse media" option frequent use have any significant impact on media tape health.  If there is any restriction on using this option for a particular media many times.

    Regards,

    Manoj

I don't think there is any impact...

It is just a "security question" so you don't delete any data by accident.

At least, that is how I interpret these message.

    Regards,

    Bart

Hi Manoj, hope you are well.

This is purely a logical marker within the GUI, Simpana does not go out and physically touch the media.  This option is a 'last warning' before data is marked as deleted and non-recoverable.

Also was curious, any reason you are manually pruning media, rather than data aging auto-managing the process for you?
