I'm trying to find the pros\cons on whether to use NetApp Snapmirror versus CV aux copy to replicate backed-up data to a DR site. I know in aux copy, there is that flexibility of retention, what gets copied, etc.

Is anyone using NetApp Snapmirror vs the CV's own replication technology?

    Hi advntracer,

The advantage of using CV is that its all contained within one console and can be managed from there. It also integrates into our agents - so if you need to restore from the vault copy, CV will handle the end-to-end operation. We still use NetApp's replication technology, but we add the supporting infrastructure around it to make the process seamless.

If you were using netapp on its own, you'd have to manually mount the snapshot and restore the data yourself - you could not use CV agents to perform the task.
