I have a storage policy which all backups are coppied to disk first, then there is a synchronous copy to tape.  This tape copy has been encrypted using AES (Rijndael), what is the best way to remove this encryption?  Do I create an additional synchronous copy without the encrypt data enabled? Doing this does it just copy the data with the encryption? Or does the copy decrypt the data on the tapes?

    Any advice will be appreciated.

If you turn it off all subsequent copied jobs will be performed without encryption.  If you want all the data that exists in that copy to be unecrypted you would created another copy with encryption turned off.  You may want to also switch the source copy to the tape copy (instead of primary) so all those available jobs are copied.
