    A quick one..

    http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v10/article?p=products/fs_archive_exchange/deployment.htm

Network is all-10gig, 45000 mailboxes, 20+ terabytes of data, 9 mailbox servers.

Servers are all 2008 R2, and Exchange is 2010. Updated/patched. CV is v10 SP6 with patches.

Proxy and mailbox servers are all VMware virtual machines.

Are there any recommendations/experience on this agent install location in this size of an environment? Customer has both as an option: install on proxy, and install directly on mailbox servers.

    Thanks!

    Hi Euro,

General recommendation would be to configure the Exchange Mailbox iDA on proxy servers off of the Exchange environment. Is this one Exchange DAG environment with 9 mail servers all a part of the DAG or are these 9 independent mailbox servers hosting their own set of mailboxes?

    Thank you,

    Thanks, Ron!

There is just one DAG, and 9 CAS servers.

We already went for the proxy solution. Affinity is per database, and there is one subClient per database currently defined. 30-something databases = 30-something subclients.

First full backup will propably take over 1 week. That is OK, if future incremental backups take way under 24h.
