Has anyone thought or if it is doable to have a backup that goes into pending to suspend itself and then about 1 hour later to resume? We seem to have backups that if we suspend for 1 hour it will right itself and finish just fine.

Hi mother, hope you are well.

May I ask why the backup went into Pending to begin with.  Also by default the system will retry the pending job after 20 minutes, no need to manually intervene, is that not happening?

If you could also share some background on this behavior, job type, pending reason etc.

The jobs do go into pending and then retry on the 3rd retry we have a failed email going out to the commvault admins and we tell the ops to go out and suspend for about 1 hour and try again, if we wake up to tell them.  We are backing up mainly files system and the errors could be that the server bounced or the other admins had it down for awhile. We very rarely have a true error on a backup. We could just change the number of retries before we get the failure email but if it is a true problem and not a blip, we need the extra time to fix.

Thanks, one option is under Control Panel --> Job Management --> Job Restarts choose the "File System and Indexing Based (Data Protection)" option and set the "Restart Interval (Mins)" options to a longer time.

    You can use "qoperation jobcontrol".

You would need to use. - qlist job for suspended jobs

add each to a list then create an qoperation for each that does " qoperation jobcontrol"
