    Hi All

Done a quick search and read the books online and SP5 release notes but it doesnt say the correct deployment order for service packs.  Whats the recommended order for this?  something like :-

    1) Update Commserve
    2) Update MAs
    4) Update remote console on IT PC workstations
    3) Update backup agents/clients

The order you specified would work fine.
Ideally you would update them all at once in a perfect world but..
CS would be first of course, then all media agents then clients.
Any machine that uses the local gui should be done after the CS is done.

The order for SP is not as important as version upgrades which have some specific constraints.

excellant, thanks for the confirmation Bill :)

Would be good if this sort of recommendation could be included in the doco in the future maybe?

    Hi ssstew,

In v9 we give a bit more flexibility with version/patch level of clients and media agents, however the CommCell should always be at the highest SP level.

I'll see what I can do about adding this to the deployment guide.
