    Hello,

I used remote ndmp to backup a Netapp filer on W2003 and everything was fine Laughing.

I try to use remote ndmp with W2008R2 media agent (simapna v8 sp4) and there is a communication problem between the netapp client and the 2008R2 media agent Yell .

Each time I start a backup from the netapp client, I have a message in the Windows security log of my 2008R2 media agent.

event ID 5152 : Windows Filtering Platform has rejected a packet. Direction : entering packet  Destination Port: 7101.

I have tried to  : - disable windows firewall : same message

                               - create rules to open the port (in each firewall profile, even both sides : inbound and outbound): same message.

I really don't understand what rule I should create to allow the nas client to talk with the Windows media agent .

If someone use remote ndmp with a 2008R2 media agent... thanks for the help..

    Fred

You may want to check to see if there are any MS KB articles on that event ID.  I did a quick Google search and came across the following link:
