  • Onepass archiving file exclusions - overridable?

Hi all, we are transitioning from the traditional archiver agent to the Onepass agent and it appears a number of file extensions are now excluded from archiving. We were hoping to archive ALL files regardless of file type and so would like these to be included as well. We don't stub, preferring to delete the source file once archived.

    BOL page:

    http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v10/article?p=products/fs_archive_win/configuration.htm#article?p=products/fs_archive_win/overview.htm&_suid=1424439030948025848610131975125

    Files Excluded from Archiving (Stubbing)

    • *.dll
    • *.bat
    • *.exe
    • *.cur
    • *.ico
    • *.lnk

Any way of forcing CV to include these extentions as part of the Oncepass archiving?

    Thanks, Tom

    Hi there,

OnePass was designed to exclude Windows files types that can damage your OS server. Archiving is generally used for files/folders that you don't need them to often (or maybe never, you just archive them to be compliance) .

Imagine that you have a Webserver or database server and my mistake you archive a .bat or .dll , once the file get stubed, your website or database will down.

Other then that, you archive data to save storage, .dll , .bat, .lnk are small size files and really doesn't worth to be archived.

    Regards,

    Vali
