  • Does Onepass Archiver, archive .EXE files?
    Posted: 03-27-2015, 2:12 PM

We have a drive that we have users dump files that they want archived.   Then once a week we run the job to archive them.  It seems that it never stubs out the .exe files.   Does anyone know if this is by design?

    Thanks

    Bill

Yes.  Please refer to the bottom of the following page in BOL:

Awesome, thank you.   I had done searches but was not able to turn up that page.
Do you know if it is possible to override those exclutions?

    Thanks

    Bill

None that I'm aware of...   You could try opening a support ticket to see if there may be an undocumented key that bypasses the checking.  Otherwise, you could use a script to rename the .exe to something else that qualifies for stubbing.

I don't beleive there is an override for this particular filter.

There is a reg key you can add via support to add .exe to the stubbing process.
