    Hey alls,

Im running backups and restores using QOperationExecute.  When I execute a process using QOperationExecute, this spawns a new JobID since this creates a new backup or restore job.

Right now, the QOperationExecute completes in a few seconds and then moves onto the next step.  Meanwhile, the actual backup/restore will run for 30 min to an hour.

Does anyone know how to capture the new JobID?  I would like to create some logic so that once the backup/restore completes, the WF moves onto the next step.

    Thanks

    -Chris

You'll first need to capture the JobID, and then start a WaitForJobCompletion activity, which will actually wait for the job to complete.

To capture the job, use a XPathQuery. It's in the examples on http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v10/article?p=features/workflow/activities.htm#xpathquery

    /TMMsg_CreateTaskResp/jobIds[1]/@val

Then use a "WaitForJobCompletion", using the "result" output variable of the XPathQuery as the jobID input variable.
