We have a particular FS which is stubbing via OnePass and has been for over 18m. For the first year of so the thing hovered at around 4-5TB for the synth fulls, but recently has been increasing and how the last couple fulls says they were over 8TB which does not see correct to me as if I add up all the files on that FS, adding up both size on disk as well as the total amount stubbed, it only totals 5.5TB (which is what one would think). Retention is 30 days for backups and relying on SP retention, nothing being set at the SC level. It doesn't add up to me. What could be going on?

Shouldn't the size on disk (including stubbed files) equal the Synth full size?

    thanks

    Hello

Your expectation is correct, application size should not differ by much. But there are several variations in the product (Setting to retain deleted files, Retaining multiple versions of files, Retaining files to cover stubs copied outside subclient content, etc.) that can result in application size not matching size on disk of client computer. So without looking into details, it is very difficullt to comment further.

Can you please escalate the issue through Commvault Support?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Could you check the properties of the subclient under the Retention tab and see if you are retaining deleted items for x number of days?

If so, disable this option and the next Synth Full should go back to normal size.

    Thank you
