I am guessing you cannot do a SAN mode sync if your storage is not on the same fabric as your productions datastores? Is this correct? For that matter this would apply to VMWare restores as well correct?

Yes the same environmental requirements for a VSA restore operation, apply to Live Sync. The VSA/MA will need to have SAN access to the destination datastore.

The Media Agents do have access to the VMWare host and datastores. Here is how we are set up though and I think because our backup storage is not on the fabrik with the datastores it is causing slowness. We have a totally seperate storage array for our backups. This is storage connected ISCSI to the Media Agents on a private network. Only the Media Agents can see this storage. It is served up to them as a share. All Media Agents are zoned to see the datastores that our VM's run on. So the drives do show up in disk manager on all Media Agents. The backups are set to auto and they do backup via SAN mode. Our restores are where things slow down. Is it because the backup storage is not on the same Fabrik (SAN cloud) as the datastores?

Is it realistic to even expect to get 1TB an hour Sync speeds if using SAN mode transport?
