  • Regarding unable to Quiesce guest filesystem errors for vsa backups

    I am getting below errors

     

     unable to Quiesce guest filesystem errors for vm's and backups are completing with errors.

     

    From other post in forum https://forum.commvault.com/forums/thread/46122.aspx. i knew it is because sp12 treats it as an error when guest file system cannot be quiesced while taking a snapshot.Also i found that

    we can add a registry 'ignoreQuiesceGuestErrors' set to 1 to avoid commvault reporting it as an error.

     

    I now need to know where to add registry now,in commserve or proxy servers that are backing up the vc.

    I would think it would be set at the VCenter client level, but we just unchecked the box on all VM subclients as it performs the task on its own within VMware at any rate.

    Hi Prudhvi,

     

    The below additinal setting has to be applied on affected VSA Proxy/proxies, Please refer below.

    Additional Setting Description
    ignoreQuiesceGuestErrors
    Description (VMware only) To ignore quiesce failure errors for virtual machine backups, create this additional setting on the Virtual Server Agent proxy and set the value to 1.
    Category VirtualServer
    Type Integer
    Windows Packages Default,Virtual Server Agent
    Min Value 0
    Max Value 1
    Default Value 0
    Supported Version 10.0 - 11.0
