We are moving our very large file servers to Windows 2012 from 2008.  Been through the CV documentation and was wondering if anyone has come across any gotchas when it comes to archiving?  Besides having the latest and greatest Windows security patches and making sure the proper AV exclusions are in place is there anything else, configuration or patch wise, that needs or should be installed or configured on 2012?

These are and will be SAN attached virtual (VMWare) servers.

    Thanks,

    Mike

You shouldn't run into any "gotchas" as long as you follow the below BOL upgrade link. (Updating to the latest Windows patches, applying the latest Commvault AV exclusions, & the latest Commvault Service Pack)

Windows File System - Upgrade the Operating System

Side Note: On Windows 2012 R2 computers, the stubs appear without an stub overlay icon. However, you can still see the offline attributes and be able to recall the stubs successfully.
