We have a large amount of old AV data that we want to move off the NAS while keeping stubs for recall when needed.  The NAS is at capacity.  We have about 40TB of files we want to archive.  We do not currently back this data up as one full is about 80TB.  The issue I am having is that we have a 54TB Data Protection Enterprise license and a 51TB Data Archive Enterprise license.  We are using 49TB of our Data Protection lincese for our day to day backups of our non AV data.  I am trying to find a way to get the AV data I want archived off to only got to archive and not hit the data protection license.  We initialy bought our data archive license specificly for this purpose  being told by the sales engineer that this should be possible.  Now that I understand Commvault, this dosen't appear to be possible, but I hope I am wrong.

If you protect the NAS device utilizing OnePass, it will consume the Data Archive License.

If you do not want to backup all of the files on the device, you can select the content option" Only backup files that qualify for archiving". This will limit the amount backed up to only the files that qualify for archiving per the disk cleanup rules.

    Example OnePass for NetApp :
