Last yr, we transferred a LUN with archived files (stubs) to a new server. The archiver used to archive the files was back from v9 with the old archiver agent. In order for the archived files to be recovered, the new server should have the same version as old archiver agent. So we installed the old archiver to the new server and it works.

Nowin the v10 envt, I want to install the old archiver but I dont think the software package for it still exists. Is there some one here who knows how to install the old archiver to a v10 server?

    Hi Pal,

    Deprecation and End-of-Life:

Because the classic v9 Mailbox Archiver Agent is now deprecated here is the plan:

    - Upgrade the agent computer to v10. This will force a complete un-install of the classic v9.0 Archiver agent. But that is OK. It is expected.

    - Set the following two registry keys:

    nAllowOlderClients (on the CommServe)
    bIgnoreCommServeVersion (on the agent computer)

HOW? Please see: CS0002: Installing clients from previous releases in the CommCell -

== Now re-install and upgrade the v9.0 Classic Archiver agent. Please follow the following steps:

    - Download the latest Simpana V9_DVD -
    - Go to the "Base" folder and tind a file called [WinPackages.xml] and remove the tag called [DisplaytoUser="false"] for the Mail Archiver
    - Re-install the Exchange Mailbox Archiver agent from the V9_DVD and allow it to apply SP14
    - Run the upgrade of the Exchange Mailbox Archiver agent again using the latest V10_DVD and allow it to apply the service pack + updates.

    Kind Regards
