We have recently started using LiveSync to replicate VMs with relatively high RPOs. (~4-48 hours). However, they are frequently delayed and missing their RPOs due to AUX Copy congestion with other VMs. We have ordered additional bandwidth to try and accomodate the AUX copies, but even then we feel we need a way to prioritize the LiveSync AUX copies over the other virtual machine backups. The only way I can think of to do this is to create a seperate storage policy. Alternately, I was thinking we could reconfigure the restore schedule to use copy 1 (before the AUX copy). This would use additional bandwidth, but the restore would begin immediately after the jobs finished.

What is everyone's best practice for LiveSync and ensuring RPO?

Does VM backup and aux copy is going to same physical location?

If you have 2 sites say Site A and Site B.

    1. Have VM backup go to site A.

    2. Congifure aux copy from site A media to media in Site B. Only AUX copy should use the WAN traffice.

    3. Live sync can pick from aux copy and do replication.
