    Hello all!

I was just going to check in and see what people in the forums are doing when it comes to standing up media agents. I realize this is vague so i will give a little background on us and see what you all recommend.

We have a magnetic disk library backed environment as of today. I feel like it is a pretty active environment with around 75,000 jobs monthly. We are supporting it with around 10 media agents. The environment was origianlly built to support a quarter of that. When we grew so quickly, I went on the Commvault site to see what we should be at and threw in a little of my own flair. Right now here is how the new media agents i have built look.

    OS: 2012 R2

    Memory: 32 GB

    CPU: 2xquad core

Index Cache: 4x400GB SSD in RAID10

DDB: 4 virtual groups of 4x400 GB SSD in RAID10

We dont have any problems with performance of RAM or CPU, but i was just wondering what others are doing out there. We see decent performance, but i am always looking for new and improved ways of getting more speed. The down side is my backup network is 1Gb so we are limited there and i understand that. If anyone has any advice or tips, I would be really grateful.

    Thanks,

    John
