My question is this.  If I install the SQL and by default the core agents on a virtual client and backup SQL via the agent and the entire client through a virtual proxy, I'm assuming my capacity license will not be touched by anything except the SQL backups and my virtual licenses will reflect the virtual server backup. Good assumption?

    Hi Mike,

Yes, If your VM is currently consuming your Virtual License then adding the SQL client to the Virtual Machine will count the SQL backup against capacity and leave you VM still consuming a Virtual License.
