    Hi,

I created two new subclients under a new oracle instance and I now want to delete the default subclient but it is greyed out.

I was able to delete the default subclients in the other intances.

    Any idea why?

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

The subclient shouldn't be deleted that's why it's not available.

It contains "\" of the data in your backup set so it's possible to back up everything using it or by creating subclients like you did to specify the usefull data on your clients. The subclients are mutually exclusive so you excluded the content in yours from everything else and by scheduling the backups for it you get your valid backups. The default subclient content you simply don't schedule.

    Hope this helps

    Hello Daniel,

Would like to know the reason why you want to delete the default subclient. default subclient is not allowed to be deleted because it may be used for representing some common properties (log storage policy for example). If you don't want this to be interfering with your backup schedules, you can either exclude from schedule or disable activity on this subclient.

    Thanks,
