I may have to create customized solution to integrate the snapshot backup across a number of Linux servers with a distributed database application.
I'm still looking through the various pieces of documentation, and it seems fairly simple to quiesce the application by a pre-script, and it only has to run on one of the nodes. I think this isn't necessarily any of the database nodes.
I would then like to make sure each Linux host fires of the Intellisnap driven storage snapshot in a synchronized fashion. The database application only details this as "approximately the same time".
A kludge would be to have the "control" node start the pre-script and then schedule all the nodes a few seconds later. Would it be possible to tack on the pre-script to initiate a client initiated start of the already defined subclients? It may be good enough.
Any thoughts? Ideally, I would like to have a generic pseudo-client for Linux File System iDAs just like for exampel SAP HANA.
