We upgraded our Hyper-V 2012R2 cluster to 2016 and raised the cluster level to 2016, but after the cluster level raised we started to experience issue with VM's backups, where for us we got a windows 2012R2 virtual machines with exchange 2016 running on them, but the exchange backup within the VM is failing and CommVault mark the Hyper-V snap job as successful while exchange reports errors (client canceled the backup!)

I opened a case and for sure support said this is a Microsoft issue, and he noted that CommVault with 2016 only user production checkpoints and they will engage Dev to see if they can use the old style of checkpoint (backup checkpoint).

Any one experienced this or got a similar type of environment?

We are on Commmvault v11 SP8+ VSA agent with IntelliSnap

I still don't have any update on this, I was hoping that some one would comment on this.
