    Good afternoon,

I'm stuck.  I've been getting this error and can't seem to get to the bottom of it, I've seen references to it in the forums for years with no definitive solution.

I have a very simple environment, all up to date.

I'm taking snapshots every few hours on 6 sublclients each with it's own datastore.  Not more than 4 VM in any given datastore.

Datastores live on Compellent, isci attached.

The snapshots actually complete.  I can list them, mount them after the fact.  But I get this error somewhat randomly.

This also causes seemingly random issues with the Backup Copy of the last snaps of the day.  Sometimes the VM can't be mounted/created then the backup copy job goes pending and holds up the entire job.  I have to baby sit the backup job to kill the bad ones so it can finish.

Support points to VMware, VMware says they don't see anything, Dell see no issues on the hardware...round and round we go.

Anyone get through this issue or found a way to troubleshoot it more effectively?

    Thanks,

Can you please check/send CVMA and vsvmi.log?

    Here are the files.

I'm back in the situation of 3 datastores (5 VM's) that fail during the backup copy with the mount

    errors.

We are having this error as well. It occurs randomly about every month or two. We can usually switch to a different host and it will process for a short time, then the process repeats. According to CV support, it is either our buffer overfilling or permissions on the storage or permissions on VMware. Considering I have verified permissions on the Compellent, and VMware it must be something on CommVaults side. Any progress on this.

    Hi,

Yeah you can switch to a different esx mount or if has never worked you may hvae to check communication between esx host and dell storage.

Do one check. Do a manual mount when you list snaps from a job,it will tell you clearly if esx host can mount the DS.

Also make sure when you are mounting same snap second time, make sure no snap is already in mounted status. You can check mount status when you list snaps from job

Yeah, the communication is fine. It works properly. I cannot manually mount those specific snaps from commvault to any host. I Made sure it was not mounted already.

Intresting. Can you mount manually one of the snap and send me the cvd.log and cvma.log of the mediaagent.
