Can anyone explain what happens if the error "Failed to establish connection to get the required parameters" causes an increase in the Application and backup data size.  Does it "recopy" the data or does it "append" to the backup data when it job completes.  (Can't seem to find any info in KB).

Any DB level job (sql or exchange) when it 'restarts' will append the data to the already running job. Whatever DB it was currently in when the interruption happend will be recopied and appended with the rest of the data when it moves on from the spot of the error.
