    Hello,

We use the 'cloud' report (cloud.commvault.com) -  "Average Throughput of Jobs in the Last Week" quite often.
    But since +/- SP9, we see a total throughput of +/- 50-75GB/hr.
Same values are visibile on the private reporting server.

Before the SP9 (+/-), we got an hourly throughput of +/- 2.5TB/hr, and our backup performance/througput really didn't decrease.
So we assume that the report doesn't work correctly anymore.

Did anyone notice the same behaviour?

How often do you have the update frequency set?

Daily. But I don't see how this can be be related as its an hourly average and worked fine pre v11/sp9

    Hello Bart,

in SP8 and prior, this report was showing Total App Size Per Day/24 HR., which may not give you an accurate picture as we dont write for all the 24 Hrs.

Post SP8, we changed it to Total App Size Per Day/ Total Write Time.

you can check if the numbers are reflecting as per the changed formula. let us know if they are different.

    Thanks

Some things just don't make sense anymore.

As mentioned, we really have 1-2TB per hour during the backup window (not outside, of course, that's normal).
On the graph it's 50Gb per hour, and now going to 75per hour.

The same details you get in the table "Backup Throughput (GB/HR) By Media":

    TypeMar 28Mar 29Mar 30Mar 31Apr 01Apr 02Apr 03Apr 04Average
    Disk 39.3 43.17 46.58 46.29 37.63 60.23 58.61 72.98 47.47

But in the table below, you have the 'Backup Throughput (GB/HR) By Agent' figures:

    TypeMar 28Mar 29Mar 30Mar 31Apr 01Apr 02Apr 03Apr 04Average
    DB2 on Unix 532.63 575.53 553.73 621.39 489.66 542.69 545.58 548.33 548.8

    Active Directory 2.11 2.02 3.2 3.4 4.03 2.1 1.84 1.8 2.45

So the "per agent type" table gives different (but more correct) figures.(same 'disk', we only use disk backup)

Sorry for being a pain in the ass :)

    Hello Bart,

can you please let us know your CommCell ID or the URL for your CommCell on Cloud.commvault.com

    thanks

as there is radio silence now, I assume that it's yet another bug.

    Hello Bart,

As explained earlier, Throughput = Total App size/Total Write Time.

you may get good throughput for some application types but there may be others which could be bringing down the average.

Below is how we are calculating the throughput average for jobs that ran on 10th.

i have attached the excel sheet.

Throughput = Total App size/Total Write Time
