I've tried looking up info on compatibility between version 9 and Windows 2000 clients I need to back up after we ugrade from 8 to 9.  Does the 9 iDATA agent work on 2000 or will I need to keep my agents at version 8 for the 2k boxes?  I can't upgrade the OS due to issues with legacy software.

    Hello,

You will need to keep the Windows 2000 Clients on version 8.0.

we actually did upgrade a client on Win 2000 to v9 agent (which strangely it allows you to do) and started getting network send fails during backup, so we rolled it back to v8 after finding that v9 agent isnt supported but we still now have Network Send Errors when doing file level backups and the job restarts upto 20 times before finishing.

We have an oustanding ticket open with support which has gone into the black hole known as Dev now, so who knows if it will get fixed.

So my advice would be, dont rely on using CV9 and Win 2000, i am falling back on virtual server backups of the VM for it now.
