    Hello everyone!

I am trying to restore one table from a intellisnap backup of a RAC DB (11.2 on Unix).

Backup runs fine and during restore I am getting an error with the sga_target parameter used on the auto-generated pfile.

I am not specifing a pfile during restore, but the auto-generated pfile is specifying a small sga_target (512M). This sga size is not sufficient and the restore fails.

Is there any way (w/o specifing a pfile) to change the default sga_target used by commvault during the generation of the pfile for a restore?

    Kind regards,

    Pedro Rocha

    Hi Pedro,

I believe you want this setting:  sSGATARGET

This needs to be set on the destination (where the auxiliary instance will get created)

Let us know if this helps.

Please use this registry key to set the required SGA in auto generated file

    Hi Pedro,

You need to set this registry key on the physical destination client where the auxilary instance runs. If you are using the RAC instance, it will be the first instance in the streams

    http://documentation.commvault.com/additionalsetting/details?name=%22sSGATARGET%22&id=1274

During table restore if no auxiliary instance is specified we create the auxiliary instance. For this auxiliary instance, default value for sga_target parameter is 512M which means the max shared memory limit for auxilary instance is 512M User can specify a different value by setting this registry key sSGATARGET
If you need to set any other additional parameter in the pfile, you can us this registry key sORACLE_AUX_PARAMETER
Use this additional setting to add Oracle parameters to Oracle PFILE. The Commvault software adds the lines to the Oracle PFILE. The parameters only apply when you select the option to have Commvault create the auxiliary instance for a clone, table restore or duplicate database. The maximum length is 4K. If you need to add additional parameters, then create up to 4 additional settings that end with the next consective even number (sORACLE_AUX_PARAMETER_0, sORACLE_AUX_PARAMETER_2) Separate each parameter by a semi-colon (;). Example Add the parameters DB_4K_CACHE_SIZE=4M and DB_16K_CACHE_SIZE=2G sORACLE_AUX_PARAMETER DB_16K_CACHE_SIZE=2G;DB_4K_CACHE_SIZE=4M
Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks,
    Prashanth
