    1. I am curious if you can specify a variable %username% for a drive to exclude all users Cookies folder for example? Is this possible in CommVault? Example: U:\Citrixprofiles\JohnDoe\Cookies

    2. I get a lot of "The system cannot find the file specified" in my daily reports. I get hassled to get these taken care of, however, these are files that possible are temp log files and what not and no longer exist. How do you guys recommend dealing with this file types?

    3. Does anyone have some good file exclusion tips as I would like to reduce down my backups, excluding unnecessary items. I used the recommended list from CommVault but want to see what others have to say that CommVault might have missed.

    Thanks everyone.

Didn't mean to say drive. Meant to say "for an exclusion for..." in case that made no sense on the first question.

    Hi Jason,

You can use wildcards to filter out a folder such as U:\Citrixprofiles\**\Cookies.

    See http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/release_9_0_0/books_online_1/english_us/en-us/universl/wildcards/wild_cards_03.htm

For the Failed files issue, make sure to use VSS for your file system backups as this will allow locked/in-use files to be backed up and should greatly reduce the list of failed files for the backup.

VSS should take care of most of the failed items.
