  • Failover CommServe in V11 SP12 not working ...

    Hi Guys,

is there a method to overcome the following :

    - CommServe is bound to an additional IP (and DNS A Record) as the 2nd Instance (SQL / Failover)
    - Failover CommServe is configured to use DNS updates
    - CommServe IP is switched to active node by pre / post scripts

Transaction logshipping works fine (uses -cs <floating CS Name> as paramter for backup and restore)

Planned failover DOES NOT work, since the Script uses -cs <FQDN of SQL Agent Instance> as paramter to suspend activity on the active node.
but that leads to an error message like the following:

PS C:\> qlogin -sso -cs localhost
qlogin: Error 0x202: Failed to connect to QSDK Server. Try again by providing missing commandline option -csn

so either -csn <floating CS Name> has to be added or -cs <floating CS Name> must be used instead.

any idea how to get the CS to accept logins via an interface not pointing to the <floating CS Name> ?
or is there any hotfix available (later than 12th of Juli HF Bundle) to fix this ?

    best regards
