I have a directory on a NAS that our video department uses to store their videos.   most of the files are 1 gig and higher.

Are there any settings that I can modify to help speed the backup job up?

I have the backup jobs routed to go over a backup vLan (10 gig) but there are times when I see the "Current Throughput" slow down to 5 GB/hr and other times 200 GB/hr.

It takes me over a week to do a full backup of arbout 30 TB.

I know deleteing the files would make my backups much faster, but the video people tend to get a bit cranky.

I don't know what kind of NAS we are talking about and what your license type is, but maybe you could benefit by making hardware snapshots with intellisnap and then backup copy them.
