I am trying to reduce the number of days using the Basic Retention Rule for All Backups.  When I modify any policy, I get the error "Failed to update copy".

I havent found anything in the KB.  Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks

    -Chris

    Chris,

What version and Service Pack are you using?  Can you provide a screenshot of the error and would it be possible to reboot the CommServe?

    Please let us know.

    Chris,

I forgot to ask you earlier.  What account are you logging into the CommCell Console with?  Would it be possible that the account has limited permissions?

Im using an admin account with Master access.  I have rebooted the commcell.  Didnt see anything in the cv logs.  This impacts multiple storage policies and multiple master accounts have this issue.

I have added 2 screen shots.

    Thanks

    Chris,

    Can you re-send the screenshots?

Still can't see any attached screenshots?

The error indicates a problem with updating the underlying SQL database on the CommServe.  It is usually caused by one of two things:

    1.  Unpatched CommCell JAVA GUI (or incorrect/old version of JRE)

    2.  References to an old Library/MediaAgent in the policy
