i'm using Simpana 11 SP10 and some Tapes in my library are marked as "Duplicate barcodes".
I have restart the library, but nothing changed.
    What can i do?

    Hi Dennis,

Are the tapes in the library actual duplicates? (Ex - have the same physical barcode?)
If they are, then you would need to export one of the duplicates and put a unique sticker on the tape and then update the barcode on that one in the software -Update Barcode Associated with Specific Media -

If there are no duplicates in the library in question, check the other tape libraries in your environment.  It's possible we are detecting the duplicate in a different library in the Commcell. In that case you would want to export one of the duplicate tapes and update the barcode to be unique as above.

Some more info on duplicate barcodes can be found here -

    Best regards,

    Thanks Dennis,

In Commvault, the library sends us what is called a slot map. We use this map to populate the media in library, slots, IE port, drive views in the software.  If there are no duplicate tapes in the environment, it's possible the slot map coming to us from the library hardware is reporting these barcodes twice.  Right click on the library and select Full Scan.  Wait a few minutes then check the media in library view again.  The full scan requests a new slot map from the library hardware.  If your still seeing the duplicates after that it might indicate an issue with the library itself. You can confirm what the library is reporting to us in the library.log on the media agent.

    Best regards,

    Thanks Dennis,

1.) Does the most recent library log on the on the library controlling media agent show the tapes listed twice in the slot map after running the full scan?

2.) How many tape libraries are in your environment?

If you take CommVault out of the equation what does the library GUI list for inventory? If you are seeing duplicate tapes in the library then there may be a problem with the library itself.

    I open a ticket.......
