Shared SAN Data Server Service Pack Upgrade

  • Shared SAN Data Server Service Pack Upgrade

    Hello All,

    One of our customers has a Shared SAN Data Server. When we are configured that, we installed SCST_UTIL and SCST_Driver for SP5. After that, we didn' t service pack upgrade for Shared SAN Data Server. Now, I' m gonna do Service Pack 13 upgrade for Shared SAN Data Server. I have checked Commvault Cloud and I saw that there are SCST Util and SCST Driver SP6. I' m confused at this point, I will upgrade the SAN Data Server but I couldn' t see fresh SCST UTIL and SCST Driver.

    Is there a procedure for upgrading the Shared SAN Data Server or is everything done already when I install SP13?

    I believe the service pack should contain the updates CommVault has released in this regard. The files you are referencing are 2+ and 3+ years old.

    So, related to this information just Service Pack upgrade enough for Shared SAN Data Server?

    Hi Omer

    That is correct, the Service Pack should include all the updated drivers.

    Note - not all drivers are updated per service pack, but CommVault will always include the latest compatible version for each Service Pack 

    In short updating the Service Pack should be sufficient, as Shared SAN Data Server is still a supported feature.
