    Hello all,

It is possible to restore only the backup files from the PostgreSQL Backups without to restore to a instance ? For Oracle Backup there is an option restore to disk, there is any similiar with Postgre ?

    Hi Humberto,

We don't have restore to disk ability for PostgreSQL right now, but it's in the roadmap and work in progress currently. Should be available in one of the next service packs.

Hmm...  I was thinking about this and there is a way to accomplish this using a block level backup configuration.   With BLB there is an option where you can restore tables in-place, to another DB or into a dump file.  But it allows you to select the entire database, so...  using table browse pick the entire DB, and on the restore dialog (for the table import options) select "Skip Import" and specify the staging location.  This will run the restore to an auxiliary instance, and export the entire DB into a dump in the location of the staging area.  Not exactly an elegant solution but may get you what you need until we get the disk restore feature added in a future service pack

Restore to Disk feature is not available for PostgreSQL

For DumpBased Backups there is a way to stage the dump file to staging location and skip import of database to server

Table level browse -> select database for which dump file needs to be restored -> select Skip Import in the restore options and provide staging location -> submit restore.
