I am running V11 SP 12.  Intermittently some of my VM backups CBT status will change for a few VM’s  within a subclts from used to enabled. When the VM cbt status is enabled the backup takes longer.  Why does the CBT status change from used to enabled if the VM has successfully been backed up in the past? Some of the Vms that have the issue the VMware tools are out of date, I have noticed the CBT status changed on VMs with and the VMware tools are current. The version of ESXi 6.2.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Gville

A CBT status of used, infers that we were able to read the CBT file (.ctk) for your VMDK. Whilst an enabled status, means that CBT is enabled on the VM, but we were not able to leverage CBT from VMware.

This can be due to a few different reasons, but is often seen when a disk is resized

Alternatively, it could be because the CBT file on the VMWare side, was reset. This can occour due to a storage VMotion of your VM.

    Kind regards
