    Hello,

we would like to configure Intellisnap for Netapp CIFS Shares. So we have to configure a SnapVault relationship between our two Netapp Arrays. Our customer ask, how the failover of the netapp svms works together with commvault.

Szenario: Snapvault of SVM1 (Primary Array) to SVM1 (Secondary Array). The primary array crashes, so we have to failover to the secondary array.

Can we initiate the failover in the commcell console? If not: Does commvault regonize the failover, when we do in the netapps itself?

The second question is. Does CommVault support Netapp SVM-DR? If yes: can we use the "indentity-preserve=true/false" configuration? So that both SVMs (primary and secondary) are online at the same time.

    Thank you!

    Marcus

    Hi Marcus

Currently there is no method within CommCell Console to allow you to facilitate the Storage Failover, also even if it is failed over CommVault will not recognize the failover.

At the moment the following are the only supported topologies - http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=60140.htm

    Hopefully this helps

    Thank you

    Winston

I partially agree with Winston, there is no failover trigger that can be given from commvault to the netapp. But, when a fail over occurs Commvault will continue to use the secondary SVM if configured correctly in the Array config. Is the customer running C-Dot or 7-mode?
