Linux VMs backup finishing with Partial Success (Hyper-V)

  • Linux VMs backup finishing with Partial Success (Hyper-V)

    Hello,

    We have 3 Linux VMs (CentOs) running inside Hyper-V Host (Cluster Enviornment having 2 nodes (Windows)).

    But these VMs backup finishing with Partial Success with below error:

    VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01 Warning File system metadata collection is not supported for [Unknown] volume [Volume-0], VM [VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01],VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01 Warning File system metadata collection is not supported for [Unknown] volume [Volume-1], VM [VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01],VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01 Warning File system metadata collection is not supported for [Unknown] volume [Volume-2], VM [VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01],VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01 Warning File system metadata collection is not supported for [Unknown] volume [Volume-3], VM [VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01],VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01 Warning Metadata collection skipped on ignored [Swap partition] volume [Volume-4], VM [VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01],VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01 Warning File system metadata collection is not supported for [Unknown] volume [Volume-5], VM [VM-UPLBRCPSVMZB01]

    Please suggest for above how can overcome issue.

    You can add this additional setting to suppress the error - http://documentation.commvault.com/additionalsetting/details?name=%22bCWEJobMDataFails%22&id=2117

    The VM is not failing, but those volumes will not be availalbe for file/folder level browse. You will be able to restore the entire VM.
