    We have a Storage Policy with 2 Media Agents configured (MA1 & MA2 - Round-Robin).

The Backup Destination is a Tape Library.

If I do a Restore by Jobs, then the Media Agent that handle the restore switched between MA1 and MA2 during the same restore job.

So every time the MA is switched, We see the following error message:

Failed to mount media with barcode [H01003]. Reason: The medium is already reserved by some other jobSleep [S]. Advice: Please wait for the other job to complete and retry this operation.

It looks like the MA1 has reserved the tape while MA2 will handle the restore and vice versa.

Can anybody explain that behaviour. Or maybe we have a missconfiguration.

    Hi CLiX

Can you please check on the Storage Policy whether the following setting is enabled:

    • Keep resource reservation cachced for jobs on the Storage Policy
If this setting is enabled, can you please disable and retry the restore ?

    Thank you

This setting is not set in the Storage Policy.
