we have a problem on one of our media agent.

During the DDB backup we encourtered a freeze of the OS et 70%. and if we wait a few hours, the server goes back and starts a reconstruction of the DDB.

    Server DL380 Gen8

    OS Windows 2012

    Commvault 11 SP14 HFP 9

    DDB is a partitionned DDB

We tried to reinstall the media agent on another server (but we keep FC Card) same problem

We change to OS to windows 2016

Index disk has been change (prefailure HP)

I would like to know if anyone has ever seen this problem?

and whitch phase of the DDB backup correspond at 70%

    Hello Nicolas

If your affected Media Agent resides on HP Proliant please try to disable HP SmartCache (if turned on) and leave RAID caching only to RAID Controller. I've encountered similiar issue in the past and after many troubleshooting tests and so on we've figured out that the problem was caused by SmartCache.

"Native" caching done by physical Raid Controller is much better and reliant.
