    Hi,

is there a way to throttle the bandwidth of Backup Copies towards an Azure Cloud Library? Network throttling doesn't seem to work when using Backup Copies (snapshots are mounted) and Azure has no MediaAgent (I mean, we use only 1 local MA that directly connects to Azure).

    Thanks

    Hi iConsultant

Can you please configure the following additional setting on the MediaAgent:

    http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=100063.htm

This will throttle the upload speed for all write operations to the Cloud.

It should achieve what you require in throttling the Backup Copy.

    Regards

Btw does this implement throttling or will there be a burst of data until the max has been reached and then no data tranfer for the rest of the hour?

    Thanks.

Just was able to test this, this is indeed throttling the whole hour, so good news.

    Hi iConsultant

Good to know the throttling works. Commvault throttles the load at the process layer, limiting the amount of IOPs before it gets to the Network Stack (NIC layer), by doing so it will limit the throughput over the wire.
