    Hi All,

I have a scenario where a file server containing stubs has run out of disk space and the plan is to restore the data out of place to another server where there will be no archiving in place.(Rather than performing the move via GXHSMUtility.)

From BOL, the following article indicates that is should be possible to restore the stubs and then restore the data from the restored stubs.

    http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp14/article?p=25951.htm

The new server onto which we are planning on restore the data has the Windows FS agent only installed. Is there anything that would need to be done to get the data restored from stubs i.e. additional settings required on the target server? It does appear as though at some stage the source server had the File Archiver installed but this has been decommissioned and not in use.

We restarted the persistent recovery job and immediately there was a 10 fold increase in the number of recalls reported which would seem to indicate there was an issue with the running persistent recovery job which the restart kicked into life.

    Thanks in advance.

Update: Under normal circumstances you should only need to restore the data from stubs onto the new server. However in this case, the new server needed the file archiver driver and driver for recalls.
