Hi All, I just installed SP15 and it appears CV changed what the definition of "No-Run" with a Job Status.

I need to setup a report for our help desk which emails them on a monthly basis a list of computers which have not had a succesful backup job in the last 30 days. This way, they could follow up with end users who have not had succesful backups.

The problem is, when you choose "No-Run" it appears to only show computers which tried to run, but didn't because it had a job already running.

    Thoughts and opinions quite welcome!

    Hi Sean

Can you please confirm what version you were previously on

From the review of the Documentation (https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp12/article?p=38835.htm), it looks like the "No-Run" was only introduced in SP12

Another consideration you can look into is configuring Alert:

    • When the Data Protection alert is configured as a subscription-based alert, this criterion is used by default to notify laptop users when no backups are performed.
    • There is a default alert that can be enabled that has 4 days set. Thsi one allows for that # of days to be whatever you specify.
    • This will generate an alert that can be tracked via email or NOC and added to a database or whatever.

By doing the above you can minimize the need of report, but still have the information sent to end-user to inform them about no successful backup

    Hopefully this helps

    Regards

    Winston
