Library: AWS Glacier
Aux Copy: Directly to AWS Glacier Vault (no S3 involvement and / or S3 Life Policy)
Out of curiosity, I am wondering if anyone successfully executed MySQL Restoration (or any databse in this case) using only AWS Glacier without the precense of S3 bucket?
From the Article: https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=9218.htm
I understand that Cloud archives needs to be "recalled" before a restoration can happen, but what intrigues me is that it did not specifically mention if a database can be restored without the precense of a S3 bucket. I understand during the recall process, the archive data will be temporary recalled to a "S3 Bucket" and then restoration will happen afterwards by resubmiting the job.
So far, I have been testing Glacier restoration without S3 and it doesn't seem to work. The Cloudtesttool is able to see my restored archive (I have no clue where the restored archive are sitting though, my AWS account has no access to S3 buckets). I did open a case with CommVault, but the Engineer emphasized that S3 will be needed for Cloud restoration to work.
Backtrack to this discussion, did anyone successfully performed a Glacier restoration without S3?
