    Hi.

I want to create a client computer group, place some clients in there then limit the number of concurrent streams for that group.   However, I can't figure out how to do this.  Can anyone help ?

We're running File System iData Agent backups using Commvault v11 SP12.

Hi huddie, a Commvault Client Group is for creating a group of client collections where like settings will be inherited by the clients allocated in the group, but the client groups do not play a part in the backup/restore processes.  For example, you cannot right-click a Client Computer Group and run a backup, it can only be done from a BackupSet or subclient level.

The best I can see that would help would be setting the Maximum number of device streams at the Storage Polcy level.

How do I set the streams restriction at a storage policy level but for only a given group of clients ?

    Hi Huddie

You can't limit the stream for just certain Group of Clients, the setting is global to the Storage Policy, once it is set this will limit the amount of useable streams.

Although this might be tedious, but either setup a dedicated Storage Policy or manually modify the Readers per Subclient that you are backing up.
